SEO is a marketing method that focuses on growing visibility in search engine results.  SEO encompasses both the technical and creative elements required to improve rankings, drive traffic, and increase awareness in search engines.  There are many aspects to SEO, from the words on your page to the way other sites link to you on the web. Sometimes SEO is simply a matter of making sure your site is structured in a way that search engines understand.

SEO isn’t just about building search engine-friendly websites. It’s about making your site better for people too.  For a more detailed breakdown click here.

Koopo has a basic SEO set up for our stores included in the Seller Dashboard.  There you add the following information to help with your SEO marketing:

  • Meta Title – Title that shows up in search engine results.
  • Meta Description – The store description excerpt that is displayed in search results.
  • Meta Keywords – Keywords to improve your ranking in search engine results.

Additional Social Profile SEO

We allow our sellers to also take advantage of using your social media profiles to lend to sellers overall exposure in search results by using the additional fields for Facebook and Twitter.

Avoid Duplicate Content

Avoid creating duplicate content on your store.  Be sure to clearly differentiate one product from the other (i.e., product title, description, category and price).

Have a Content Strategy

Consistently connecting high quality content to your store  will add additional value for customers and help improve your search engine ranking.

Optimize Product Images

When saving and uploading images related to your business such as a retail, logo, portfolio, sample work, advertisements, etc., remember to properly name the file.  This improves your search-ability and makes it easy for engines to sort and find your company data.  Image searches are a very popular way for people to shop products. Stores need to add related keywords into the “Alt Tex/Alt Tag” of every image on their website.  Use your business name and a brief description of what the picture represents.

For optimal effect, make sure that every keyword used for an image is directly relevant and avoid stuffing keywords into the alt text/tags.
