Overview
The City of Detroit is hiring an Electrical Worker General for the Construction & Demolition Department. The role provides journey-level electrical installation, repair, maintenance, and apprentice direction under department supervision.
Duties
- Install, diagnose, and repair transformers, motors, starters, switchgear, programmable logic controllers, relays, and meter equipment.
- Provide electrical maintenance services.
- Train and direct registered apprentices as assigned.
Requirements
- Electrical journey-level certification or comparable major-trade credential as requested in the posting.
- Building operations, maintenance, and repair experience preferred/assessed.
