Utility Technician – ByProducts

DTE Energy’s EES Coke Battery plant on Zug Island is hiring a Utility Technician to run its byproducts unit — capturing usable byproducts from coke-oven gas and treating plant wastewater. You’ll partner with a crew leader and maintenance staff on daily operations, learn each unit’s flow and hazards, and keep strict safety and environmental standards. Pay starts at $28.35/hr plus a $0.50 shift differential, with quarterly production bonuses worth up to $7,500 a year and health, dental, vision, and prescription coverage from day one. The on-site role runs 12-hour rotating shifts (14 of 28 days, with seven days off); a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required.
